I am looking for an excellent place to take my 2 and 3 year olds fishing for the first time to catch sunfish/bluegills, I want to make sure that they will be able to catch something. Does anybody have any suggestions? :-)

I have taken the kids to beacon harbor at bethel island on the delta. Night crawls off the docks. Bite every cast. Mixed bags of bluegills small stripers and small bass.

Some years rancho seco has ok fishing for redear. I don't know how it is now but it could be worth a try. It's very close to Galt.
Delta is definitely a great choice for bluegill in general. Out there about 2 weeks ago and we saw a lot of 4 to 7 inch bluegill on nests spawning all around the Delta.

Try Garin Park in Hayward. Jordan Pond there is loaded with Bluegill and it's a fun easy place to take the kids and let them play. You can see the fish from the edge of the water.

My little newfew was there latley and have been catching and releasing a bunch of crappies off the docks.. He was using white and chartruese crappie jigs. Wax worms used to be the ticket back in the days. Good luck!
