Ok, thanks to our friends at Okuma I have a few goodies to give away and what I think will be a pretty fun way to do it. Here's the deal...

You post a picture of your most beat up swimbait or trout plug. I'm going to rate the pics based on the most horridly chewed up lures. Points will be given for teeth marks and fishing wear and tear. Points won't be given if it looks like you left the bait on your deck in the sun for too long. I'll pick the winners and the best pics in each category will win an Okuma sweatshirt and hat, as modeled here (girls not included).

http://www.calfishing.com/files/Images/ultimate_weight_guess/sweatshirts.jpg

The contest runs until Sunday August 5, 2007 at noon Pacific Time.

Whether it's a swimbait or a trout plug is determined by the review pages. Meaning that these are trout plugs:

http://www.calfishing.com/reviews/trout_plugs.html

and these are swimbaits:

http://www.calfishing.com/reviews/swimbaits.html

7 Inch baits or larger only. If your bait isn't in the review pages, I'll assign a category to it as soon as you post.

Calfishing moderators and admins are not eligible but can post their pics if they like. I hope we'll get a shot of Nico's retired 9" Slammer!

When the contest is done, I'm going to make a new photo gallery for chewed up baits. Maybe we'll call it the sand lot :)

Here's a pic of my first Hudd to get it rolling:

Let's see those teeth marks.

Here is one of my first hudds. I limped her along for a LONG time as it was during that phase where you just couldn't get any more. I'm proud to say the last fish to take a swipe at her before retirement was a rancho double.

I don't think I have a bait that will take this contest but I thought I'd throw one in the mix..

Not the greatest pic but you get the idea...BBZ-1, right down the forehead x(

Thats not fair Matt! That bait should have been thrown away a long time ago. I was thinking of showing the Hudd I used for skipping under docks at Clear Lake, the one where the internal lead got bent and made the Hudd look like an S curve, but I gave it away because some dumb ass needed a tail to melt on.

Maybe tomorrow Ill take a pic of my wake bait jr, after 4 months that thing is beat to heck, but still catching!

Heres a one fish huddy. Got blasted like no other right after I ripped it out of tree, right on top of the water. Crystal Huddleston sent me a replacement, so it was sooo worth it!

Teeth marks right? Pickeral got hold of these two. The hook is bent on the ROF 12 because a 9 lb largemouth had it so deep that it was lodged in the throat and it bent that huge hook! Tons of pickeral and bass teeth mark all over it.

I'm bummed because I've abused the heck out of some huddlestons but I dont have them anymore. I got so mad after losing a 10 lber recently I smacked the water with the hudd, managing to snap the hudd off in the process as it went flying about 40 feet in the air. That one would have been good.

It's my secret trailer hook knot. I call it "granny knot cluster"

My favorite MS Slammer (now retired) is hanging from my cube wall at work and since I'm fishing tomorrow it will have to wait until next week.

However, this one isn't so bad. I re-used the head on this old Castaic Trout so all I have is the body. I caught several dozen fish on this tail, with maybe 4-5 double digits. The belly section slowly wore away after sticking trailer hooks in there, but the lure was still catching fish in the pictured state.

Nico,
That's unreal! *shaking head* Even if yours don't count that just moved the bar up about 10 notches!
