Both Senko's and Assalts have caught me a lot of fish. I have a preference for the Assalt because they work and are a better bargain than Mr. Yamamoto's baits. As long as they keep catching fish so I'll keep throwing them.

I like the 7" baits my but I've done well on both the 7" and the 5". As for rigging weightless is the only way to fly with these baits as far as I'm concerned. However if I do need some extra I sometimes will insert a nail or screw in to the bait. This can add a lot of action as well. I ussually insert in the center or in one the tail oposite sid from the hook. I try to keep the weight light so the bait won't loose that falling action which has made it famous and accounts for a high percentage of it's strikes. I prefer throwing the larger baits as long as the bass are willing to eat them.

I think there are a couple other Yamamoto/ Assalt baits worthy of mention. I've also caught a lot of fish on spider grubs (small football lead head with a quaility hook, this is my favorite rigging method for hula grubs but I've also had luck Texas rigging). Tsunami gave me an IKA last season and that got me started on using them. They have also worked caught a fair share of fish for me (I have only fished these baits weightless). As for colors you I would recommend checking my picks and many others by doing a search in the archives. A few months back titled something like "what's your top 5 favorite senko colors?". It got a lot of responses with from people listing their top 5's. It's well worth checking out IMO.
