In my opinion, definitely a float tube. A tube is so much easier to fish from than a boat or even my kayak. You can hold your position with your legs while casting (impossible to do with paddles, obviously). If there's any wind you'll spend more time paddling around trying to get into position than fishing. There are lots of other reasons why I think a tube is better, but that is the main one. -Phil
