Yaked it from about 6:30am - 12. Excellent bite till around 8 or 9 when the sun came out of the clouds. Started out as lemon/white Kinami bite, when I ran out of those it became a watermelon/lemon Senko bite. Then as the sun started to poke out I switched to a white spinnerbait. Only caught a bigarse crappie on it, but lost 5 or 6 in the air, and was getting bit every cast. Tried some other surface stuff for not even a swirl.
Throughout this time I lost maybe 10 fish either in the air, or in the case of one fish on the drive by. That one hit a Senko right off the bank, headed straight for me and right by. I could see it go by, but I couldn't turn quick enough and it popped lose some 10' behind me. This was about a 50' run from hookset to release, never turned, just like a run-away train. Also farmed quite a few others. Totals were probably 5:15 boated to hooked. Biggest was around 4.
The rest of the day was dead until the last 30min. when I farmed a couple dragging and 6" Aaron's Magic straight tailed worm. I think I went some 2.5 hrs w/out a single bite before those last little pecks.
Thanks to all the Matt, Rob, and Steve (over the phone) who pointed me in the right direction.
