That's correct. Not the first choice in bait but when they do get bit it's always a big fish. One of the bigges halibut I've ever seen ate a hooked ronkie then spit it right at the side of the boat. My dad was fighting a big fish recently & when it spit the bait there was a sand dab all chewed up on his line that had swallowed his chovy. I know some old timers that swear by lizardfish as killer halibut bait (gross).
