Thanks, Mike and Kanamit! I'm not real smart but I sorta guessed you got the 'but from the sea...<BR>Seriously, my best day halibut fishing was between the slough (is a "slough" like a river mouth or estuary?)at Pt. Mugu and Mugu Rock, on a gently sloping bottom - which sounds a lot like what I might find in Goleta on the "other" side of the pier. I'm making a drift sock and getting an anchor so I can stay in a spot like you float-tubers. After that, comes a kite so I can take advantage of the wind coming back in!<BR>Aside from the posts you've seen here, I haven't been surf fishing. So, I guess the corbina are safe!<P>BH
