#8622, "Doheny Halibut"

Fished the swing from high-low tide off doheny today from my new Kayak. Between noon and 13:00 it was red hot, like back in October! Pretty much every cast with a Big hammer soaked in calico sauce got bit. I ended up fishing between 11:00 and 14:00. Landed 8 halibut. Three keepers, biggest 24" :-( kind of a "barely legal school thing?" Also four Yellowfin croakers, including a couple BIG FAT 16" ones.
Also two sand bass, a sculpin and got broke off twice. One was a mystry fish the other was a BIG halibut. Never saw it, but SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE, throb, throb, throb, zzzzzz, limp line :-( Actually didn't break, got the jig back farmed...

Weird weather, hot, cold, wind, glassy calm, chop...you name it. But the fish were there!
