For me... the way the spot sets up dictates if I fish it uphill, downhill or across. I am not a beleiver in "spring up... fall down at all" but I can tell you that you can make all the casts in the world but a fish will only eat it coming from a certain direction. If I am fishing a point, I can tell you that I prefer to fish it uphill. I guess time on the water is the only way tp determine which is best.
