I feel like if you ban on /not honor records/etc. with alabama/umbrella rigs you should not honor records caught on chemically sharpened hooks. They are a much bigger advantage than any multi lure system and greatly improves a-rigs and any other lure.

Could you imagine fishing a jig with those old bronze hooks?

A lot of my jig fish are double pinned, meaning the 5/0 or 6/0 gamakatsu jig hook goes through the jaw bone, comes out, then goes back through the jaw. The fish can never throw the hook even if I just free spooled them. I have trouble getting the hooks out. I say this is unfair and if I catch a record it should be disallowed!

When people say how bad they are for fish I laugh.
The a-rig has been out a year, how long have chemically sharpened hooks been available to ravage bass with? Which will cause more damaged to fish long term(in terms of fish caught and landed not actually killing fish)?

Then when everyone is done banning super, sticky sharp hooks why not ban all swimbaits that are too realistic. No more hudds, 3:16, etc. not even basstrix baits they also are too realistic. Only skinny dipper like baits are allowed.

The a-rig is not as realistic as the big swimbaits but no one is banning those top shelf swimbaits from tournaments or igfa.

I think all the hype with the arigs really just gave it a bad reputation as some super bait. Its a rigging style nothing more.

You give a weightless-senko-chucking casual bass fisherman a medlock jig and let him loose on some grass and tules. Then give the same medlock jig and trailer to say Brandon medlock. Who catches more and bigger bass? Medlock is just a recent example of this that I am using the same can be said for butch brown and a hudd and a million other examples.

Lures are just lures, it takes a real good angler to make it deadly.

They might as well start banning the best fishermen.

I don't even fish alabama rigs and I word vomited here but I do not like the slippery slope of banning rigging styles or lures and feel very strongly about this.

Also the whole "its multiple lures only one lure is tradition in tournaments".What has caught more fish and more bigger fish, a jig or a-rig?

But how can a jig outfish an a-rig? it only has one lure how can it be a magic bait? oh wait...
