There is no way you are going to weight a soft trout heavy enough to get down 30 feet and still expect it to swim straight. Leadcore and downriggers are the only way I can think of to do this. You could fill the head with lead, but then it would probably not fish very well. Maybe you should try something like an optimum swimbait or a basstrix to fish that deep.
