#14348, "ultamite frog"

I heard about this bait from i guy who was fishing a local pond in texas.
He told me that his freind who lives in cal. made a frog that swims like a zara spook ,but looks like a frog.
He did tell me that they would be in walmart in cal.
is there anybody who has info. about this bait?
If somebody could send me a hyperlink via e-mail or any info. about this lure i,d appreciate it.

This is what he told me.
The bottom was shaped like a boat, a v shape hard body, but the top had a profile of a frog, soft plastic.
The proto type resembled a bull frog.
He also told me that he caught 10-14 lb bass at night testing it out as he did,nt want anybody knowing about his bait.
But he told me also that he down sized the bait for other fishing conditions where the frogs are smaller.
I beleive the person who told me as he has nothing to gain from what he told me.
We were just fishing and frogs came up in the conversation and he told me about it.

The WON Bass insert had an article about a bait like you are describing. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. It's a hard bait frog for fishing open water. Kramer wrote the article I think, maybe he's lurking and can give you the dope on it.

I didn't know you were looking for a hardbait frog, if your looking for a frog that walks the dog and catches the big dogs the Barrack perfect frog will do the trick. :7 It walks like a charm compared to other ribbits.

I hope we're not talking about the same frog that they TRIED to sale at Wal-Mart last year. This thing is a joke! It looks like a big painted liily pad. It's flat and round and about 3" across.

I know at my local wal-mart, they were $8 or $9. Well at the end of the year, they still had all but like 10 of them out of 100. They were on a clearance rack for $3.

I would suggest about 17lb test + because most places where your fishing frogs there is cover moss and such you want to be able to horse the a bit. PS frogs are great fun when there hitting them!!

Hey let that Bass go I wanna catch her some day

i actually think you were referring to the lure called big toad . it has a prop at the end and is pretty wide for its length. made by the auston lure company out of alpine(san diego) ca.though i could be wrong but won had an article about it like swimbait mentioned.

hi, i THINK the frog you are replying to is by River2Sea. it is a open water frog only, it drags two trebles on it's belly and has wings to wobble. it retails for 30 dollars i think, not sure on the price. it is a fairly large frog. hummmm lagre frobait..j/k..but it is large in size. hummmmmmmmmmmmmm large frog bait..sounds tempting....gtg, saLTIE-:P
