When is the best time to hit the delta? And what is the best baits to use,, i've never been there, and really want to!!

Right about now is the time when the Delta comes alive and the big bass start biting. Sometimes it's mid-Feb but looking at tournament weights it doesn't look like it has really gotten cooking yet. Any day now though.

If the water is clear - swimbaits. MS Slammer, basstrix paddletail, big hammer, and many others will work.

If the water is dingy, jig or big senko. Flip and pitch. Look for wood this time of year.

If fishing is kinda tough, rattletraps and cranks are a good way to find the bass. Senko is a good way to catch them once they are found. Spinnerbaits can also be outstanding in march. Large spinnerbaits.
