I fished in the morning with my dad. I tubed and my dad yaked. We slept a little longer than anticipated so we didnt get on the water until 7:30. I droped my dad off at the ramp and he started to paddle towards the bait barge. I walked down to the beach and launched my tube. I kicked out and made my first cast parallel to the shore with a 3" wookie. Next thing i know im going bendo on a nice fish, i was getting my ass kicked. At first i thought it was a seabass or big but, then i told myself not to get too excited before i saw color. There was a kayaker out there (ojos) he asked if i needed the gaff. When this halibut came gliding up to the surface i thought, hell yes i need the gaff especialy because i saw it wasnt hooked super well. Ojos paddled over and stuck him perfectly for me, i owe a big thanks to ojos. We measured him at 29" and when i got home i remeasured him and it was 29". I had just got him on the stringer when my dad paddled around the corner towards the bait barge. I got to hold the fish up and watch him sprint the rest of the way to me. This is deffinantly my biggist fish this year, and maybe a pearsonal best. Not bad for the first cast. Though i should hve left right away because i fished for 2.5hrs all the way to mission creek and didnt get another bump. My dad cought one 18+" fish and that was the end of the day. I dont know if ojos ended up with any fish, i saw a few other guys and i didnt see a whole lot of action, other than my bigun it was a slow day. Here he is though:

i almost forgot, heres brians super seret fish (halibut) from a super secret location (haskells) on a super secret day (last sunday) on super secret lure (fast track). Only read the text in parentheses if you are a courteous angler who cleans up his mess, doesnt take short fish, practices conservation, and is an all around good egg. All you who arent, dont read the text in parentheses (we dont want those guys to mess up our sweet spots or good bites). Ive always had good experiences with sharing info. Last year i turned alot of people on to goleta beach and even though the pressure increased the people where respectful and it didnt ruin the enjoyment. I feel bad for the people at the 'duct, the stories i read where pretty bad and its unfortunate that there intentions where good but they got taken advantage of. I think its your own business what to post as long as theres something in it we can learn. If you dont want to say where, fine. If you dont want to give up your candy bait, dont. Just tell us how the conditions where and what the bite was like or anything else educational; reaction or finess etc... You can also report after shitty trips because that will help everyone learn also. After all that what this site is about. Not just bragging about big fish, even though thats fun, but sharing information and learning to fish better.
anyway that was just a some thoughts, hopefuly in a humerous way, on a subject thats been beat to death.
Heres the whole point of the post (the background has been changed so dont pay any attention to the rock clif that looks just like haskells by the bacara)

Hey buddy, I really appreciate you guys spreading the info. I love to fish but I am kind of a noob to saltwater. To tell you the truth, it is dudes like you sharing good info that make fishing the great sport that it is. I know it is hard to give up locations to good spots and good baits but it does make a difference for guys like me that would not have a clue otherwise. Conservation is key and respecting a fellow anglers spot is a must. So thanks to all who share info and give others a chance to share in the excitement of catching fish. Charlie
