The Minnesota Minnow is a mag sized spook style bait. Doc Holiday put me in touch with these lures which he's having done up in various patterns including the trout bait here and a glow white. I believe the body is OEM'd by some musky lure companies but am not sure on the details there.
The Minnesota Minnow is similar to the River2Sea Rover 230 in size and shape but the head is more Lucky Craft Sammy. The way the baits walk is more subtle than the Pupfish but louder than a Lunker Punker.
It takes some effort to work this bait. This would be a good candidate for 80lb braid and a Curado 300 to get the higher gear ratio. Doc tells me he's had some great strikes from big striper and largemouth on this bait down in Southern California.
Check out it, drop in a review comment if you have one of these guys:

Here's a good little modification for those that don't like the rattles in the bait. Take a good sized drill bit and drill the top of the head. You can then shake out the 6 steel BB's out of the bait. To seal up the hole, take some 5 minute epoxy and fill up the hole. Let the epoxy cure a little before applying it to the hole. There will be air bubbles that will try to escape from the bait. continue to wipe the bubbles away until the epoxy starts to harden. Once it is curing, apply a small amount more and let dry for a few hours. Once it is hard, you can then file the expoxy down flush with the bait.
Great baits that catch a lot of fish. Most Striper guys like the rattles. The bass guys like the bait without. With the BB's out, there is a nice deep knocking sound from the stationary weights in the bait.
Get two... one for the Stripers and one for the Largies.
