Ok all you bass size estimating experts. Here is a quiz to test your skills. I know it's not the real thing, but it's the best I can do. Here are 8 pictures of bass taken underwater. Let's see who can guess the weights most accurately. The closest guesser gets ... uh nothing actually. But it will be fun :) Please put your answers in pounds and ounces like ( 5lbs 12oz ) so that we can more easily compare answers. If you put it in decimal, you'll have convert to pounds and ounces for me later if you think you are a contender for the grand prize of a pat on the back :)

I'll just go for trick question :-)
Too hard to judge just because there is no scale reference, and because I royally suck at weigh guesses. The 10 I caught at Del Valle I thought was 13, when I first saw if from the top, but it had NO belly on it so it weighed way less than I thought.

I'm not even going to try to guess. Im the most terrible weight guesser on the planet on fish over 7 lbs. I'm always a couple pounds on the light side.

5 and under, and Ill nail it on the ounces if im holding it.

But Ill say that number 4 and number 6 are probably the biggest fish of those, by looking at jaw structure and fins.

1.) 1.1
2.) 1.6
3.) 1.2
4.) 1.8
5.) 1.1
6.) 1.7

Mark, this isn't the Price is Right. Betting a dollar won't get you the grand prize pat on the back :)

Well first, it's hard enough to guess them in the water for real, but without references it a whole new story, but worth the fun and challenge. By the way, common rule to follow in the wild is when they are shallow they are bigger than they appear and when they are deep they are smaller than they appear.

1. 7 lbs. 11 oz
2. 10 lbs. 4 oz
3. 9 lbs. 6 oz
4 9 lbs. 6 oz (looks like same fish as 3)
5. 11 lbs. 6 oz
6. 14 lbs. 0 0z
7. 7 lbs. 9 oz
8. 22 lbs. 6 oz...cuz ya caint prove otherwise. Could have been a big stick too.

Ok underwater guessers.
Here are the answers:

1. 13lbz 5oz
2. 7lbs 14oz
3. 12lbs 8oz
4. 14lbs 6oz
5. 11lbs 0oz
6. 8lbs 12oz
7. 8lbs 5oz
8. about 3lbs

I know it's not fair without a point of reference, but looking at pics of giant bass is more fun that debating any day :)

I think hooksetter was closest, but everyone guessed pretty low. I guess that's a sign of your honesty lol.
