just looked at their website and saw this sick new trout they have, its called quick snap baits that the tails kinda clamp and slide on the head, prolly have better action...anyways just wondering if you guys have seen these new trouts....and is the 9" regular trout's color as sick as the 12 inch one's? they always show the 9" in some ghost rainbow or shad color and they always show the 12 inch ibn the rainbow, like thay are ashamed of the 9"er's rainbow color lol...
thanks

Yeah man, those things are definatly on my wish list. Just wonder when they'll be at tacklewarehouse? I think ill get the 6" and 9". One thing that is interesting to me is that almost every picture I see of a castaic trout looks slightly different so it seems like its a luck of the draw regarding what color you get. But that is total guessing on my part.

I was bored and found their website the other day. I wasn't aware that they even had one. But it'a really neat site. I think it's pretty new because it's being updated all the time.

Here is the link:

I don't understand the difference in the baits? It looks like the same castaic trout as always but with a different way of affixing the tail and some different color schemes. Did I miss something or are you guys just excited about the colors? The baits do look great, but as Fish Chris could tell you, you gotta be willing to bite the bullet and lose some giants when you throw this bait.

I did hear that they had some hardbaits similar to the original hardbaits on display at the Bass-a-Thon. Anyone got any pics of that action? :)

no rob i was just linking the way the 2 parts link together, and was wondering if castaic has improved on its action any. trust me, with all i have seen it takes alot to get me excited about a swimbait. i was just curious about any action upgrades. original castaics are coming out more and more. i have seen like 5 on auction on ebay in the past month or so, all going for 130+...too rich for my blood, but i will have to get a live trout by rago. would like to have an original castaic tho, even if it was the plastic injected kind. anyone know where i can get one for around 60-75 bux?
thanks

When I went to the Bass-A-Thon I saw the new baits. They have a bunch of new colors. Some have a clear plastic head and then have a really cool trout finish on them. They also had 2 original hardbaits that they raffled off at $15 a ticket.

I think I will definetly get one or two of these baits.

I like the new color schemes and the fact that I can go from a golden shiner to a rainbow trout in a snap. I personally don't care about losing a few fish when I get bit twice as much. The lakes I fish are so clear that I can't get bit that much with a harbait unfortunately. Only during special periods such as night or rain. When those aren't the conditions, I am wasting my time with a hard bait. The fish in this lake aren't gonna get fooled nor will they come up for it. So I have to fish plastic baits that don't have as good of a landing percentage, but it's better for me in the long run. I don't lose too many fish anyways. I only lose fish that nip at it, and that I don't really call losing. That's just simply a non feeding fish that is curious in my opinion.

that you are a close minded individual. if you just saved your money and sprung for a pimpin bait like alive trout, you would have the best of both worlds! oh yea, that stocker trout really looks just liek a trout. like a retarded grey trout thats been smokin something with no fins. the only think it has going for it is action. it has great action but realism in appearance and hookup percentage is a downfall...

..that these plugs seem to be catching alot more fisherman than fish lately. I would'nt get so hung up on what lures your throwing as much as when, how and why.JMO The Stocker trout seems to catch just as many lunkers as the rest of them, when in the right hands.

Happy hawg hunting, lots of weather changes going on.

BURN OW that hurt, but still, i throw the stocker trout, i turn around and throw a slammer, but what i was talking about was the overall realism AND a combo of a good hookup percentage...basically i was just stating my opinion on what looked and seemed to be the best all around bait. and i in no way meant to undercut jeresyah, but he knows who his daddy is! nah we are friends it was just some constructive critism for him. HIS ONE TRACKED MIND MUST DERAIL!!!
