I think this one puts me in the lead (for the time being) for the big bass days of march. This beauty hit my 12" light osprey this morning in about 20 ft of water!!!! I missed one earlier, but this one made up for it. She weighed in at 13lbs 11.2 oz. Hopefully she'll hold up till the end of this month. When Chris netted her, we both thought 15 because of the tremendous girth, but we weighed her on my scale and Dave Solis' scale too just to be sure. Mike

Way to go Mike! You're the only guy I know who's throwing the 12" baits and it's obviously paying off.

Awesome, just awesome. Mike you are the real deal buddy. Dedicated to the big ones and you sure have been getting them lately :-)

When you try to post pics in the future, make sure to check the box that says that it's a JPEG image. The default is an HTML file. If you post a pic as an html file, only internet explorer can view it. I fixed her up for you so everyon could see what a toad this fish was :o

You dog!!!

Wow nice job mike

How are these bay area lakes producing all of these giants. Are these fish florida's and more importantly F1 hybrids?? Im very jealous in my precipitation starved area of california.

Coyote was drained about ten years ago then restocked with floridas so it's pretty much a new lake. Which makes F1s a real possibility. It also suggest that the trophy bass population is going to crash in a few years.

I don't think San Pablo and Chabot have been stocked with floridas in a very long time. So I'd say no F1s. My best guess at why they produce trophys is EXTREMELY heavy trout stocking, low bass populations, and very little bass fishing pressure.

Can't prove any of it. But it's fun to speculate.

Buddy, you are definately on the giants !
My hugest congrats to ya' !

I guess if I had just got a 13-11 on a 12" swimbait, I might not be spending so much time in the ditch collecting dads :-) But believe me buddy, I plan to throw my big trout lures even more now.....

Continued success to ya' !

What amazes me is, it took *2 weeks* for ya to catch me! :D

p.s. when you gonna get a camera that takes pictures IN FOCUS???!!! Heck you're also gonna need a WIDE ANGLE LENS to be able to fit your hawgs in the frame, if they keep gettin' bigger!!!!

Good goin', Mike. At this point, we're surprised if you *DON'T* catch one of these sows each week!

That one will be hard to top, I'm still looking for that 15 to 17 lb. fish to be caught at Casitas, Puddingstone, Mission Viego, or Castaic Lagoon. C'mon So Cal guys, these northern guys are killing us. LOL....

On the topic of big fish, BWW now has two new residents in the aquarium, an 11.25 and a 9.00. They should start feeding within the next week. That'll be cool!
