Good Job Doug on the win, way to get'em both days.

I got up to Beacon Harbor on Thursday around 10 and was on the water after I got camp set up real quick. I was catching lots of dinks with some keepers mixed in on a spinnerbait white and chartreuse with gold willows, and a white/char with single silver willow. I was also having some success with a Iovino peanut butter and jelly 6inch worm on a dropshot with about 12inch leader. The spinnerbait fish were coming off of clumps of weeds with wood around and the dropshot fish were on the outside weedlines, I didn't catch a single fish off a dock all day so I decided I would not fish any docks the rest of the weekend. Later in the afternoon I was fishing down in Sandmound slough and off a point with a bunch of trees in the water my spinnerbait got engulfed by a fish. The fish jumped a couple of times and then I was able to land it fairly easy. It measured 23inches in length and 17 in girth and according to the IGFA bass weight formula it came out to roughly 7.25, but it didn't really seem that big, it felt more about 6.5, but if it was heavier than 6-11 its a new PB. On friday Mitch and I went out and he kicked my butt throwing a blade. I didn't have a very good day I caught a couple small fish and struggled all day while he put a limit in the boat.

Day 1 I decided I would stick to my plan and row towards little franks and fish a few spots along the way. I fished some of the spots I like on the way over there, but just could not get a keeper. I was catching them on brown/orange speedtraps but they were all small and I didn't get a look from a fish on blade. I ended up picking up two keepers after I had made my way all the back near Beacon on the tule wall in between the first and second openings in the wall between franks and piper. Both came on a dropshot with PBJ worm.

Day 2 I knew there was fish over where I was fishing around Little Franks so I decided I would just go there and fish and see what happens. On my way I stopped and fished that tule wall I caugt fish on the day before with a buzzbait and I caught two keepers and some dinks. I eventually got to a rocky point with a good weedline that I have caught many fish off of before and I was able to finish my limit dropshotting the PBJ worm. With only like 20-30 minutes left I had a good 4-5lber eat my bait and jump and throw it right back at me, which really made the tourney end on a sour note for me, but thats fishing and I'm working on correcting that problem, cause that is not the first decent fish I have lost recently. The frog is sweet, but I am just not finishing the deal after I hook them.
