What an awesome night! First I'd like to thank Paul for putting on a great tourney, and for wieghing our big fish during the tourney when I called. Giving up fishing time on the water while your on the hunt can't be easy, thanks again, and that 8-lber thanks you too!
So, we all blast off around 7:15 and I rowed my way towards the dam, didn't quite make it all the way because it was a little crowded so I just fished this shady area close by the dam for a while with no bites, decided to move on back the opposite way.
After it had gotten dark I started throwing a red Buzzbait over the tops of submerged weeds, found one fish to take it, about 1.8lbs, cool, no skunking tonight! After some more casting around with out a bite I move on.
About 10pm the moon was rising in a cool orange glow, I came upon an area that had less weeds and more of a hard bottom, decided to spend some time there. First threw the blade for a while for nothing, then put on a 1/2oz black/red Revenge Jig with matching trailer and cast it out, I was hopping it back slowly when I felt a THUMP, set the hook and it was SOLID, I knew it was a good un, after a bit of a fight she came to the suface with mouth open and I was like "Oh my god" I got the net ready and went for the scoop, she barely fit in it, I let out a holler cause I new I had a personal best, she wieghed 11.7 lbs. YES!
I calmed myself down and started fishing again, It's about 15 minutes later in the same area when I feel another THUMP, set on it and it's another good one! After a minute or two I reel in what turned out to be an 8.1 lbs, Awesome! Two big ass fish in 15 minutes, gotta luv it. I need one more for a limit but could only find a couple of knuckle head dinks.
Thinking to myself I may just win this one...Wrong! Rob Swimbait is fishing this one, should of known, but that's ok, I had a great time and I'm back in AOY race.
Congrats to all who fished this tourney, lots of quality fish caught, see ya'll at the next one!

Great job guys. Wish I could have been there (and only 20 min from my house). I go under the knife tomorrow so I'm not sure when I will be able to fish again. I'm going to try casting left handed tonight so I can maybe embarrass myself at the last Shasta event next month. Wish me luck. (There's that word again.) Don't want to blank on another one.
