#3480, "Your favorite lure?"

I know it's probably next to impossible to pick just one lure to fish - but if you absolutely had but one choice - what lure would that be for bass? I know it depends on conditions, etc., but I'd love to hear your one favorite lure - and if you've got a fish story to go with it, all the better.

Favorite lure.. would have to be my 4 inch broken
back Rapala floating minnow. Back in the 80's at
Lexington I could not keep the bass off that thing.
For a early morning or late night bite, I could catch
as many as 5 to 10 bass in a couple of hours. I still
use it today of course this is my 4th one since the
80's and it still continues to bring them in.

Best Fishes
Gene :)

You know I don't worm fish much, but if there was only one lure I could use it would be a 7" powerworm in either tequila sunrise or plain brown. You could cover all depths and flip/pitch.
As far as a pure favorite lure it's gotta be the 9" MS Slamemr.

Mine would have to be the pig- jig, usually 1/2 ounce. Color is tough but the pork i found is universal is black or brown. Jig color can be black, brown, or purple... You can fish it shallow or deep and any time of the year, you might not catch more fish but i believe bigger fish will come from this type of lure..

if I had only one to fish. It has saved the day many times and I've got my biggest night bass at 7 lbs (but 25" long!) with it at Lake Sonoma.

As for a favorite, I'd have to say a spook although the Slammer might soon replace it!
