Had the day off today so I went to Puddingstone for a few hours this afternoon with AMP2564. Surprisingly, the water if still pretty clear but we didn't spot too many bass. I saw some fry which would signify that the bass are almost done spawning and personally, I'm glad. Every bedding bass at Puddingstone has been hooked at least 4 or 5 times, that is, if they are lucky enough to avoid the cooler. Fishing was on the slow side but I was just hoping to get a bite with this front having passed through the past couple of days. I threw a jerkbait most of the day with my only action comming on my 3rd or 4th cast. I felt some weight on the line but after I saw a quick flash of white, I assumed it was a beer can (not an uncommon catch here, caught one dropshotting a couple of days ago) All of the sudden, a small bass jumps and throughs my jerkbait right at my feet. That pretty much sumed up the action for the day, we just saw the fry and a couple of bass swimming around in shallow. I cant wait for summer to come so I can quit fishing here. :)

Tom Cod,

Dont be so quick to hang up your bass gear yet. Your frustrated because of the lake you are fishing in. Pudd can be a tough nut to crack at times and 98% of your LMB fishing is done at this lake from shore. We should take the advise of the others in this web site and start fishing other, more productive lakes. Hang in there little buddy.
