Here's the info re: State Park & County Park that I received f/ the Ranger (phone # is (707) 279-4293)). Parking (day use) is $2/vehicle. There is no gate to be concerned about. Two of their campgrounds are open - Kelsey Creek & Cole Creek. Their boat ramps are open despite the low lake level. State Park is in Kelseyville, near Soda Bay Rd. (the northwest side of the lake). Fishing there is pretty good - I know that some of our guys like to launch out of there both in October & November.
County Park is near State Park. There is a public launch ramp. No parking fee. I have no idea how the fishing is out of County Park or how much parking is available.
So, since we'll be choosing the blast-off & weigh-in sites at our meeting tonight - if there are objections to State Park, please post. At this point, it seems like a strong candidate when compared to our alternatives (Rodman Slough, Library Park, Skylark or County Park).
