Fished in my clubs (Santa Barbara Sport Fishing Club) annual trout tourney Saturday at Lake Cachuma, with me was my buddy Matt Russell. We worked the east end of the lake from the mouth of the narrows to outhouse point in the morning then in the mouth of Cachuma bay in the afternoon.
Matt was had the hot side of the boat as got his limit of trouts, as for me I managed only two.
I would have to say the bite was quite a bit slower than it had been recently, however I attribute that to the massive amount of boats trolling the key areas .
Anyways we got our trouts on both pearl and the new Sara’s trout color 3in Big Hammers (trap rigged) trolled on straight 4 or 6lb mono. Also I might add Matts stringer of 5.46lbs netted him a tie for firsst place in the tourney….Captain Larry…
