I don't know what it is about fishing Goleta beach. You guys all seem to have luck catching halibut there, especially at low tide. Well tonight I fished from the slough all the way south to the point, using 3" sea wolf big hammers, without so much as a bite. The highlight of the trip, though, is that I literally stepped on a corbina as I was wading across the slough. Literally, I put my foot down, felt something slippery move, and saw this 12-14" corbina swim away, it was probably as shocked as I was.
I've come to one conclusion about East Goleta beach: I've become an expert at catching all of the seaweed I can find.
