Saturday, April 30th was Halibut Day for the Unifisher and Friends. Left Harbor at 6:00 for a trip to lost bank abord the Black Dog. Tried for fish marks below floating kelp just past current rip towards Santa Cruz but they weren't having any.
Arrived at Lost Bank to drift with Sardines. Each of us (Unifisher 1, Unifisher 2, and the steelheader) had slightly different rig. I hooked up on second drift. and brought in a nice flattie.

An excellent way to start the day! We circled for a third drift and Unifisher 2 brought in a twin of the first. The Staeelheader brought in an unusual catch.

The drft speed and angle were changing but we adapted and brought in a few more...

By 1:00 we had landed five keepers and one shorty. The smallest of the keepers fought the best. It had slowed by 2:00 so we headed for home after ensuring that the boater who needed a jump start had been helped. At home we layed out the guys prior to butchering. Three right eyes and two left eyes. A good days work!
