Oops, sorry for late report, forgot to post. I started around 6:30 am and the surf made bass fishing on the rocks scary so I opted for perch around more sheltered areas. There was a mild redtide present and it did take me a while to find where the perch were focused. I got into a nice bite on a combo of BSPs and WSPs with the size from 5 to 10 inches. I was getting short bit quite a bit at first but fixed that with some Pro-Cure. All the perch came on the nose-hooked big hammer grubs with a pretty short leader (15 inches due to larger surf). I was joined after a while by 8 girls from the Santa Margarita Dance Team who were at the beach for a pilates studio photo shoot. Being the dedicated angler that I am, I remained focused on my quarry. Their photographer shot a pic of me with one of my better BSPs (beats trying to self-aim and use the remote switch). I split at 9 and left them biting (the perch).
