On the reefs in the Caribbean, 'cudas eat glass minnows which eat poison algae...so when you eat the 'cuda, you can get sick!

"...About Ciguatera
Ciguatera fish poisoning (or ciguatera) is an illness caused by eating fish that contain toxins produced by a marine microalgae called Gambierdiscus toxicus. People who have ciguatera may experience nausea, vomiting, and neurologic symptoms such as tingling fingers or toes. They also may find that cold things feel hot and hot things feel cold. Ciguatera has no cure. Symptoms usually go away in days or weeks but can last for years. People who have ciguatera are treated for their symptoms...Ciguatera illness generally occurs in the tropical regions of the world..."

In the Bahamas, they give a piece of the 'cuda to their dog first....but I love my dog too much to do that!

I don't know if the Pacific 'cudas carry the disease or not...

It's just a beating....until you fight back.
