Well, a hooker, of course! Just kidding- got stoked on the bones at the harbor as a grom, used to have so much fun! The Reel Fun, Sum Fun, and Clemente, as well as the Amigo, were epic as a kid growing up. Used to stay awake all night awaiting the 3\4 or 1\2 day trip the next day, the bonito were the bomb back then, wish they would reappear in numbers to stoke out the new kids. Throwing home made splashers with a bonito feather trailing it off Aliso and San Clemente Pier, as well as getting some really nice calicos from Shell Beach (Monarch) and Three Arch. Just found a pic of me in 7th grade with an 8 pound class calico caught on the old root beer Scampi tossed on a Diawa Silver Series spinning reel off Monarch, too bad I was too young and dumb to practice C&R- but the hair and clothes in the pic are almost worth it (not really, but what else can I say?).
