#858, "Who wants to go fishing?"

Ok, for the purpose of putting some names to faces on this site, I am pre-announcing that me and a couple other guys are fishing the Stardust morning run on Sunday. While I'm at it...me and Daniel and Brian are planning our senior trip, which might end up being next summer instead of 2 yrs. from now, so it'll be more a junior trip, but we're gonna go to San Quintin for a week and fish either 5 or 6 days. San Quintin is 10 miles from San Martin Island and has excellent halibut, wsb, calico bass (one of the most overlooked in the world), and of course yellowtail, yellowfin, albacore, bluefin, bonita, dodo, and I'm probably leaving something out. I emailed the owner, here's a part of his response: "If you come in July, August, September of October you can expect to catch albacore, yellowfin, bluefin, dorado and yellowtail. When you've had enough of that, we can take you to the Island for calicos and white seabass. When you're tired of that, we can take you to the 240 as well as other spots and get you some of the nicest rock cod, white fish and ling cod you may have ever seen..." Uh, sounds good to me. For a week stay in the hotel and fishing 6 days, the cost is 2000, split between four anglers is 500 each. Not bad, that includes the boats for 6 days w/captain and possibly deckhand, and hotel stay w/ breakfast and lunch. So, we if we go this summer, we'll need a fourth angler over 18 to go with us. I think it would be cool to get like 8 of us to go down there. The rooms have 4 beds per room. The place is kinda ghetto, but that's not what I'm going for... Good float tubing and inshore too. Anybody interested? Hey Rob, how bout you and summer? Summer could hold a video camera...
-Brian
