#9310, "Dana harbor WSB = Dog Food???"

I launched with a newbie to yak fishing, my buddy Yanni. After getting him into shark donuts, now I'm gonna convert him to yak fishing. Next will be the whaler...

Any rate within a few minutes of getting set up and trolling, I got slammed and knew immediatly it was a keeper WSB, just peeled off the 10 pound test p-line flouro from my millionaire. Yah! After a nice tussle I had him to color, and was just beginning to debate, release or gaff?

That's when it happened. BIG black shape boils on him and look out, Elvis the bull sea lion has my prize by the tail! He then takes off with it! I put my feet in the stops, the rod butt in my gut and let the big dog tow me in my yak.

After a bit he stops, surfaces and starts head-shaking. That sea lion shook the WSB by the tail till the tail came off, then chomped higher, and did it again. This happened until all that was left was the head and shoulders of my nice WSB.

Heartbreaking!

After that start, and with the front approaching I hoped the action would be good, but it was a slowish pick all day on short Barracuda and WSB.

My buddy had a good time, except being rolled on his first Yak trip by the growing swell.

And my other buddys did about the same as I did, except Keith in the blue yak caught a legal halibut in the harbor on a crankbait, cool!
