I bought a Humminbird Wide One Hundred. It's going to be portable hard mount(?). I made a rack for my boat, got a small rechargeable battery and portably mounted the transducer. It's not the all-in-one portable. Being a family man, price was the primary consideration. If you wanna email me offline, I'll give ya more details. Or if you're in no hurry, Rob said he might let me do an article. Tip: Consider the depths you fish when you choose. A narrow beam transducer shows only a small patch of bottom in shallow h2o. If I remember my math it is: tangent (O/A) of 1/2 the cone angle x depth x 2 = diameter of covered area.
