I have fished it more than a few times. I lived less than 3 miles from it for almost a year. It's actually on the Southern outskirts of Hollister and yes there are some toads in there. The lake record is over 15#s and it recieves bi-weekly and sometimes weekly trout stocking in season. From a boat the cove and point directly S. of the launch is good usually. The lake doesn't have a lot of wood or brush so if you find some, fish the area thoroughly. The lake has a large population of craws but, not too many shad. Lastly, please practice C&R on the bass. Too many go home with the locals. Luckily most of them don't target the trophies.
