The laundry bags work very well as they are in the water. The one thing you can do to make it better for the fish is to fasten a loop of wire on the bottom of the bag so it does not collapse on them and cause them to suffocate. Just bend a hanger wire into a circle and fasten it with either string, zip ties, etc. A good example of a more expensive version can be found in the Cabela's catalog and presumably website. Can't remember the name right now but they are in the section of live bait cages.
