#14486, "Naciamento and Santa Margarita Water Levels"

It was a last minute decision, but I loaded up the kickboat and went out to Naci on Sunday morning, I have to report that that lake is WAY,WAY up from just a week and a half ago. Really unbelievable! Had a short day on the water due to down pours, but did manage a couple (2) LM one being my best for that lake 3lbs (Odd being that the spots dominate there). A friend went out to Santa Margarita Lake and that lake is up 15 FEET! Launch ramp is back in the water for all of you boaters...and we are expecting lots more rain!!

See how sneaky I am John....now everyone will be "B-lining" it for that spot while I go in the oppisite way..lol....Really, the Lakes here on the Central Coast have come way up. This Spring/summer should be great around here.

Here's a story about the reservoir levels:
http://www.sanluisobispo.com/mld/sanluisobispo/10570513.htm

Margarita is at 1284.19' and 57.5% capacity. That's up 22 feet! You'd have to go back to July of 2003 to get back to those levels. Still rising and more rain on the way! :D

Hey Brian,

I think I am heading to the Fred Hall Show up in San Fran this Sat. But I will be at Naci Bright an early Sunday Morning. As for Margarita, well check out the picture in todays Telegram Tribune....That thing is busting at the seams!!! It will be a few days at least till that settles down....but I can't wait till just before the spawn there!!

I called the folks at Santa Margarita yesterday and they said that the lake is closed to boating because the boat ramps are under water. According to the office, it might open in a couple of days.

Countrydude

Drop it deep and yank it hard!!!

I called up there this morning and asked if the Marina store was under water, and the answer is no, as the water had receeded some, but it did make it up to the front door.

FYI: The marina store is closed, not due to flooding but getting approvals to open it again. They expect it to reopen with food in the April time frame and boat rentals around June 2005.
