This is a story...I wasn't there. Some good bros of mine caught the first striped marlin for the the year/millenium out of DP. Apparently they were trolling around 10 miles out, caught some sharks, when they spotted the fish. Just happened to have a live mackerel in the tank and a live bait rig ready, casted on the fish and she took it. The captain was Jake Crawford and the angler was Jeff Wiltgien. Two aloha men from my high school graduating class. Jeff tends bar at the Wind and Sea restaurant in the harbour. So go in and hear it from the source. It weighed approximately 175lbs last I heard, but maybe it's grown!!!
