#7194, "King Harbor, 8-7"

Fished King Harbor with my neighbor Aaron today, it was his first time kayaking in the ocean. We launched early and fished the barge, Aaron immediatly caught 2 legal sculpin on the plastic before the short 'cudas took over for about 20 minutes it was wide open on krocks and 3" Big Hammers or anything small for that matter. Yeah I know its only short 'cudas but it beats getting completly skunked, especially at King Harbor where it's a regular occurance for me. I was having fun on 4# test. After that it was slow for the rest of the day but we caught 3 more short 'cudas while fishing the slips for spotties. No halibut caught or seen, but the live bait fishermen were doing a number on the 'cudas, bonito and mackeral all day long. All fish released.
