Went to Catalina to go diving and brought my rod just in case. End result. 5 calicos, 2 opleye, and 3 garbaldi!! <---lol. That full moon sure had an effect on the calicos. <BR>Peas & squid

Whatever you do don't get caught with a garibaldi in your boat or on the line, it's a HEFTY fine as they are protected.

yeah, it is like a 500 dollar fine and up to 6 months in jail, but as long as you get em off the line quick and back into the water alive, DFG will give you a break. i always catch garibaldi in catalina. the key is not to use veggies as bait. it'll cut down on your opaleye catch too.
