Save the Date! The permit has been issued for the Restore the Delta / CSPA Benefit Tournament at Russo's on April 3rd. We'll have the same program as last year, 3 divisions, food, and raffle.

1. Kickboats (individual tournament, $75 per kickboat) $50 Donation, $25 paid back 100%
2. Boats (team tournament, $150 per boat) $100 Donation, $50 paid back 100%
3. Fly-fishing (team tournament, $150 per boat)$100 Donation, $50 paid back 100%

The raffle should have plenty of great prizes and we'll have food for all anglers. More information will follow, but I wanted to get the word out ASAP.

These two organizations are fighting "tooth and nail" in Sacramento to protect the water that flows through the Delta into the ocean. The ecosystem (bass, smelt, stripers, salmon, sturgeon, steelhead, and dozens of other fish) is considered collateral damage in the push to divert all of the Delta's water into the Central Valley / SoCal. This tournament will be the easiest and most enjoyable way to support the cause and protect the water/fish in our beloved Delta.

FYI...TBF Delta Region has a tourny on the same day as well. Is it too late to change it to a different date?

Maybe you could change the BnT tournament back one day to saturday the 2nd....that way we could fish both tournaments that weekend...

Please excuse the scheduling mishap! We REALLY enjoyed having the kickboaters in last year's tourney. I must have looked at the 2010 schedule when looking for conflicts. Damn it!

There were very few dates left for our Tourney. We were pretty much stuck with April 3rd.

I really like the suggestions by Scott and Mike to move the conflicted tourneys to Saturday!! This is a HUGE favor and I would be very humbled if BNT and SBBBC were able to make that accommodation for the RTD/CSPA Benefit Tournament.

I'll call Rob from BnT and Mike Ayers from SBBBC to discuss potential solutions to the scheduling conflict.

I like Mikes idea. Any body have any objections to moving our tourny to Saturday Aril 2nd?
I don't have any issues with it, I want as many kick boaters as possible to show support at the Restore the Delta tournament so moving ours 1 day prior should be the least of our concerns.

I have no objections. I look forward to fishing both events!

After missing the tournament last year, I plan on fishing the RTD regardless. Moving the whites date a day makes sense, with the importance of this event we should all be there. Really looking forward to it.

Thanks, Rob and BnT! The flexibility is appreciated. BnT's support is so BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!! This should be a fun weekend. I'm up for camping somewhere in the Delta. Beacon Harbor or Tiki Lagoon would work. I'm open to suggestions.

Either tourney I fish, or both, I will definitely be camping out. Probably White Slough Friday night and Beacon Harbor (or where ever is close to the launch) Saturday night. I sure hope I can swing both but seriously it is hard enough to get away for one day much less two. And we have two 2-day tournaments before this and one after. Snivel, snivel, puke,puke...or a sniveling bucket of the same. It's just hard to get away from work and home for multiple days....

I personally will most likely be able to fish only one event and that's BNT event. I realize this is for a great cause but you guys scheduled an event on a day with 2 different club events. Obviously our club event and TBF delta region club event. So mike F the question I have for u how many people do u think u guys wull have show up. Me personally I don't think us changing the date to Saturday is going to make a significant difference. I hope to be proved wrong as this is for a great cause.

I also think this is a great cause and a great tournament to fish (if I lived closer)...but, I have to agree with Taylor, this time of year is pretty busy with Team tournaments and other events. I realize it is difficult to come in on the tail of the other Orgs and get a permit date. I personally would have this event after most Orgs slow down in the year, usually after May and into june. Myself, I am booked up fishing two tournament trails and trying to add a few B-n-T events, now that does slow down after May (AC Teams wraps up in May)

Late May / Early June makes sense. We'll definitely be more strategic for the 2012 date.

This is a no-pressure event. Nobody will be upset if people fish BnT, but not the Benefit. I will fish both tourneys.

We had 35 people last year and are hoping to double that # this year. April 3rd was the only date that we could get this year because we applied very late in the game.

Scheduling tournaments is new to me. There wasn't much thought put into the 2011 date last year, as we were trying to get the 2010 event off the ground. This is a labor of love and a donation of my time & effort to RTD/CSPA. Bobby, Cooch, and I will go to the jamboree this year to get a better 2012 date. Advanced planning will hopefully prevent this type of conflict in 2012.

The RTD/CSPA Benefit Tournament would like to work hand in hand with BnT and SBBBC. We don't want to cannibalize BnT tournaments or put anybody in a difficult situation. Thankfully, Rob has agreed to move the BnT date to acommodate us. This is much appreciated. We would prefer not to be in this situation, but that's reality.

RTD and CSPA are working to keep water / fish in the Delta for our generation and future generations. The Benefit Tourney is a great way have fun while donating. If you can't fish the RTD/CSPA Benefit tournament due to a conflict, but would like to support the cause... both organizations are always taking donations; as litle as $5 will help.

Thank you and others involved for organizing this. It is unfortunate that there are date conflicts but given how many tournaments there are for different clubs, organizations, circuits, etc this is going to happen. I would love to fish both tournaments. Money is a bit challenging but work is more so. If work (and wife) permit I will fish both. If I can't fish both I will be fishing BNT but will donate something to your organization.
