If not too far, you can try the area off the Berkeley Pier, Angel Island, Racoon straights, and the other rocky or sandy areas (depending on species) of SF Bay for rockfish/lings (in season), perch, halibut, stripers, and shark. Maybe others can tell you about sturgeon and other species. There may also be fishing maps available for SF Bay on the web and at tackle shops.
