Closer to you would be the area off of Oakland International Airport, where you can catch sturgeon now using live ghost shrimp (also good for flounder, shark, and much else). The sturgeon pickup is very light so you need to be very attentive to detect a bite and very careful in setting the hook.

Sausalito, Tiburon, and Racoon Straights would be good for stripers in the summer (maybe rockfish too), but I do not know about winter there. I do believe that there is a major annual herring run off Sausalito coming soon, if you are interested. I hear that the boats, including commercials, are packed like sardines (herring?) there at that time.
