the only thing i would add is that tides like Lake mentioned really dont matter that much in determining where you go, but it is a royal pain in the butt to row back towards weigh-in when you have to go against the tide and the wind, I've found if I'm only going against one of those forces its all good, but when you got both against you its a pain in the ass looking at the shore and rowing your butt off to only move a few inches. Ask Zaldain about rowing into the current and wind, it can screw ya if you don't watch the time. ;-)
