Another thing that the height numbers tell you is how strong the current is likely to be. If there is a big difference in the high to low numbers and vice versa, then there will be more water level fluctuation in the same amount of time resulting in a faster current flow. A "swing" of only 1.5 feet won't create a ripping current like a 5 or 6 foot swing will. Also like Zink says there are a lot of other factors like wind that will influence how fast and how high the tide actually goes. That might all be BS but it sounds good, doesn't it? :+ .
